In January alone, our dynamic performance trainer, Amy Finegan, guided no less than twenty authors through a sequence of physical warm-ups, as well as resonance and articulation exercises.

She instructs on take-home techniques that address pre-event nerves, strengthen your voice and prepare you physically before walking on stage. She comes armed with a wealth of practical experience and advice: from how to adapt to different audiences, how to use the stage to your advantage, and how to deliver a knockout performance. Amy runs performance sessions as part of our event training days and for the National Literacy Trust’s 21st Century Author initiative.

“Amy managed to sew some positive seeds that I shall endeavour to use in my future career.” – Peter Jay Black

“Amy had exceptional knowledge. Her advice was specific to me and just what I needed.” – Clare Welsh
