PHIL (PJ) NORMAN

FOUNDER / CREATIVE DIRECTOR

PJ is a CIPD qualified learning and development specialist who has delivered personal development and managerial training to professionals within the fields of medicine, broadcasting, retail and publishing – across three continents.

Ten years experience has equipped him with the ability to identify and create learning solutions to many of the problems people now face in their working lives. Having provided online management and coaching to authors on how to navigate the world of new media and marketing, PJ is acutely aware of the demands that writers contend with in the marketplace today.

His knowledge of training best practice is teamed with a talent at creating punchy, interactive workshops and seminars – making PJ perfectly positioned to bring author-focused learning solutions to the heart of publishing.

DIGITAL

PJ works with publishers, literary agents and authors to build, excite and leverage online fan communities through brand-consistent engagement campaigns, having worked with authors Martina Cole, Bernard Cornwell, Anthony Horowitz, Victoria Hislop, Jeffrey Archer, Danielle Steel, Marian Keyes, Patrick Gale, Kate Mosse and Nicci French.

He can create an intensive character-driven narrative to generate a spike in engagement ahead of key publication dates or design on-going digital campaigns designed to strengthen an author’s brand.

GROUP TRAINING

PJ will team up with a second AuthorProfile trainer to deliver focused guidance over a full day on topics ranging from social media strategy and author branding, to building a coherent and flexible author/illustrator event plan. Group training provides an opportunity for your authors to share their experiences and to learn from each other as well as from the trainers.

1:2:1 COACHING

PJ is able to deliver individual coaching sessions that are tailored to match the needs of a particular author and are perfect for when you need fast response training.

21ST CENTURY AUTHOR PROGRAMME

PJ facilitated events training across all three levels (Content, Performance and Logistics) of the 21st Century Author Programme, a new initiative led by the National Literacy Trust to provide high level support, training and deployment opportunities for established and emerging authors and illustrators in England.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with PJ at AuthorProfile. I’m impressed by his expertise and his enthusiasm. Nothing has been too much trouble. Above all, AuthorProfile has played a huge part in raising my online profile! I cannot recommend it highly enough.
