Justin Somper has worked in the publishing industry for 20 years. In 1998, he established the consultancy just so and is a PR and Marketing consultant with a particular specialism in working with children’s authors and brands, including Roald Dahl, Anthony Horowitz, Narnia, Louise Rennison, Polka Theatre, John Grisham, David Almond and Rick Riordan.
Justin has created and led numerous training sessions including Copywriting Workshops and Creative Brainstorms for publishing clients, Media and Events Training for individual authors and group PR/Marketing workshops for authors through both the Society of Authors and the Scattered Authors Society.
Justin is the author of the bestselling VAMPIRATES sequence, currently published in 34 countries and 24 languages, and his new sequence: Allies & Assassins. Since becoming a high-profile author himself, Justin has had to get to grips with national and international touring schedules, blogging, tweeting and being interviewed in the press, on radio and on TV. He is uniquely well-placed to observe the challenges facing contemporary authors and the publishing industry as a whole – and to find solutions to these challenges.
GROUP TRAINING
Justin will team up with a second AuthorProfile trainer to deliver focused guidance over a full day on topics ranging from event content and author branding, through to creative copywriting. Group training provides an opportunity for your authors to share their experiences and to learn from each other as well as from the trainers.
1:2:1 COACHING
Justin is able to deliver individual coaching sessions that are tailored to match the needs of a particular author and are perfect for when you need fast response training.
21ST CENTURY AUTHOR PROGRAMME
Justin facilitated events training across two levels (Content and Logistics) of the 21st Century Author Programme, a new initiative led by the National Literacy Trust to provide high level support, training and deployment opportunities for established and emerging authors and illustrators in England.
