Sam Hepburn (who also writes as Sam Osman) read Modern Languages at Cambridge University before joining the BBC as a producer/director, working mainly in the Arts department. She was a commissioning editor for the launch of BBC Four. She now writes crime mysteries for teens and is currently published by Chicken House.

Chasing the Dark, which came out in June 2013 won the teen category of the Stockport Mad About Books Award 2014 and was shortlisted for the  Bolton, Hampshire, Wirral and NE Book Awards. Her new title If You Were Me will be published in April 2015.
